Beginnings

Hello all,

Welcome to the blog for Daemon’s Sphere, my first entry to the Zuda comics site at http://www.zudacomics.com/If you are not familiar with Zuda, you must check it out. It’s sponsored by DC Comics, and is an amazing opportunity for artists and writers trying to get their foot in the door of the comic industry. How it works is that you submit the first eight pages of a story that is at least 60 pages long. If they like what you offer, they will pit your eight pages against entries from 9 other contestants. During the following month, your entry and the entries of the other contestants will be judged by the readers of Zuda, and, at the end of the month, a winner is declared. That winner will then be given the opportunity to set up a contract with Zuda to post the rest of their story on the site. There are some truly amazing stories there, from all genres, and you should absolutely seek them out.

My story is titled "Daemon's Sphere". It is a period, globe-trotting, treasure-hunting, adventure comic, in the vein of the classic pulp characters such as Alan Quartermain, Doc Savage, Indiana Jones and the Spirit.

Our hero, Reginald Daemon, is a special agent for an unnamed organization within the American Government. Set during the peak of the Cold War, it is Daemon's job to keep artifacts of extra terrestrial origin out of Soviet hands. With the help of his long time partner Steve Ross, a veteran of the Pacific conflict of WWII, Daemon travels the world, one step ahead (and, in many cases, one step behind) those who would have the artifacts for themselves.

In future entries I will provide some art and other promo materials to give you a taste of what went into the creation of the comic and what to expect if I am lucky enough to win the competition. *fingers crossed*
